SACTOWN ROCKS is a celebration of all things Sacramento, and wouldn’t be complete without the biggest of all Sacramento bands…TESLA! Thanks to their die-hard, loyal fan base and their younger generation fans, TESLA continues to tour to sold-out crowds around the world. They’ve come a long way since the mid 80’s when they were known as City Kidd and played gigs at The Oasis Ballroom. Now, After 30 years and 16 million albums sold, TESLA is ready to unleash their vast catalogue of songs both old and new at SACTOWN ROCKS!
MIDDLE CLASS RUT is perhaps the most recent international success story from Sacramento. While 98 Rock first embraced the their track “New Low” in 2007, the band released at as a national single of their No Name No Color album and scored a top 10 rock hit with the track. Middle Class Rut is known for their insane and outrageous energy on stage, and the band hails as the largest drawing band ever at Sacramento’s Concert In The Park series. We can’t wait to see them at SACTOWN ROCKS on June 28th!
OLEANDER is without doubt one of the great American rock bands. We are proud they’re from here and bringing their talents to SACTOWN ROCKS! They came to prominence in the mid to late 90’s with songs like “Why I’m Here”, “Down When I’m Loaded”, and “I Walk Alone”. After taking a break in 2005, the guys decided to get back together to make some music and see if the magic was still there. It was. The result was their latest album, “Something Beautiful”. After an electrifying appearance at Aftershock two years ago, OLEANDER is ready to bring it!
Northern California has a long and rich history of great rock bands. We believe FALLRISE will be the next band to break big out of Sactown. With a recent sold out show at Ace of Spades under their belts and a killer new album “Territories”, FALLRISE is pumped and ready to show everyone that they kick some serious ass! The group is fronted by young Sacramento Metal veteran, Sammy Karlin, with a smooth, soulful singing voice and powerful aggressive vocals to match. Guitarists Dave and HazMatt lay down the chunky wall of riff. The mood is set by the eccentric stage energy of bassist Anthony Grant, and leading the grooves is Isaiah on drums with his versatile skill brought in from all musical styles. These guys truly know how to entertain and will show us what they’re made of June 28th at SACTOWN ROCKS!
SOUL MOTOR is, to put it bluntly, one kick-ass band! When Brian Wheat from Tesla’s not busy with “The Big T” he’s got his side band to make music with. Darin Wood is the uniquely talented and powerful vocalist, with Tommy Armstrong-Leavitt on searing guitar and Kelly Smith pounding out the drums. Always intelligent and intense, we can’t wait to see SOUL MOTOR on stage at SACTOWN ROCKS!
